Built by business owners, for business owners
As fellow business owners, Neil and Nicola understand the rollercoaster that comes with running a small or medium-sized enterprise. The pressure, the unknowns, the 10 hats before 10am – it’s relentless, and often lonely.
CH4B is an ecosystem of support that’s structured, strategic, and led by people who get it.
“We didn’t want to create another advice service. We wanted to build something that truly made running a business easier.”
Neil began his career 35 years ago as a gemologist in the jewellery industry before taking an opportunity to work with a national home improvement company that were looking to grow their business in the South of England.
Responsible for growing that business from 4 to 28 branches, Neil achieved an increase in turnover from £3.5 million to in excess of £30 million over a period of 8 years.
Following Neil’s huge success with this company, he started his first business in 1999.
In more recent times, Neil was offered the opportunity to set up his own members community, offering various products and services previously out of reach to SME’s. Using his experience and the challenges faced as a business owner, Neil has worked to add to his product portfolio, which has now become CH4B.
Despite his accomplishments, Neil admits he has learned that “combining the knowledge and expertise of the right people gives you a thousand times more chance of being successful than trying to do it all on your own”. This helped to form the core principles of CH4B’s company ethos.
When he is not working, Neil loves to play golf, tennis and spend time with his family.
“Running a business isn’t just about numbers. It’s about mindset, confidence, and having the right people around you to thrive.”
After receiving her degree in Business Management, Nicola worked through various roles on her way to discovering a keen interest and passion for supporting business owners.
Working across various industries, Nicola has helped successful businesses exceed their business goals and targets, working through a number of advisory solutions, including business development, managing investment portfolios, sales, marketing and structuring strategic business plans. In just 3 months, Nicola raised over £8.5 million pounds worth of investment for a property investment company, offering clients a significant return on their investment.
Nicola has a passion for building good business relationships with the best possible customer service, which is very much in keeping with ‘CH4B’s values of being customer focused and innovative.
Her experience gained over the years has led to the success of CH4B, working alongside her business partner Neil Kilgour. As a team they have built a large portfolio of products and services, forming a specialist team of experts meaning they can provide their clients with the best possible service, advice and support across all areas of business.
In her free time, Nicola enjoys shopping, often for holidays or city breaks. Her passion for travel and exploring different countries and cultures continues to be one of her favourite things to do.

He has a range of tools and techniques to empower those he works with to discover the right approach to achieve their goals and encourages an open mindset and focus on continuous evolution and improvement. Chris jumped at the chance of joining CH4B in supporting SME Business Owners achieve their goals; using his experience in business and as a coach to do this. The vision and values CH4B hold are close to his own and makes the community one he is proud to be part of. In his spare time Chris is a dedicated family man and is lead by his 3 young girls but when given the chance enjoys to be outside exploring places old and new, and tending to his garden where he attempts to grow a variety of plants and foods.
Jane started her career within the home improvement industry 20 years ago, training with AAT and subsequently ACCA to provide additional accountancy support to the business.
Over the past eight years, Jane has worked with numerous small and medium-sized businesses, providing annual accounts, regular management accounts, payroll services as well as various support and advice.
Her experience working in a number of businesses alongside other directors has resulted in her having a good understanding of how real business works and what is required to get a business to the next level.
During time away from work, Jane spends time with her family including three children, which keeps her busy.
Kimberley started out her career in the charity sector having contributed over a decade to various organisations, namely animal charities, later diversifying in a role at a trade association that specialised in professional bodies. Kimberley’s core roles encompassed several different elements from events and hospitality to membership and communications.
Having gained a breadth of experience in the third sector, Kimberley was seeking a new challenge which led her to CH4B where she hopes to utilise her skillset working with our Expert Partners, and continue her personal development.
In her spare time, you’ll most often find Kimberley walking and training her dogs or riding her horse on Dartmoor, while she also enjoys travelling, live music, and comedy.

HI, I’m Gavin Hill. I’m a father of four young boys and live in the Midlands. I’ve been working in financial services all my working life, which means I’ve seen the industry change massively since the 90’s through the increase in regulations, qualifications, outgoing of the commission culture and in my opinion all have been for the better.
After 20+ years working as an independent financial advisor I am still passionate about making a difference to people and their families lives.
It is important to me that all my clients are treated as individuals and they are central to the advice I provide with a tailored financial plan.
My job is to look from the outside in, ask the difficult questions, talk about different scenarios and outcomes to enable you to make clear, realistic goals so that the correct decisions can be made.
I’m Scott, a CH4B Finance Expert and Chartered Financial Planner.
My motivation day to day is to empower clients to live their lives free from financial stress and anxiety. We help clients focus on what really matters most to them and help create a life they love.
Financial planning is all about people. We’re complicated, we’re always changing, we have millions of things going on in our lives and we’re here to make your life easier, end of.
I love meeting new people from all different walks of life and understanding what is most important to them, what they want to do more of, what they want to do less of and how we can help.
We’re working to grow with great people and we’re passionate about helping business owners. To me that means transparency, it means being an advocate for you to focus on what’s important to you and creating a partnership where we can help you get clear on where you’re going – nothing brings me more enjoyment than seeing our clients live out what we helped them plan.
Away from work, I’m a contributor to the wider industry. Being part of the PFS Power panel and initiative allows me to hopefully help shape how the profession delivers advice to people now and for the future. I was grateful to be named in Citywire’s Top 35 under 35 advisers in 2021 and 2023.
I’m Rob – one of the three faces behind CH4B’s Financial Services Expert.
As a Founder and Financial Planner, my mission is to help my clients live life for today, knowing they have planned for tomorrow.
I love working with entrepreneurial clients who are busy building amazing businesses. We have a lot in common and can help with important decisions around profit extraction, pension planning, and tax optimisation.
In my opinion, there’s no better feeling than taking someone from a place of uncertainty and worry, to being fully engaged and on track with their money.
It’s more than just numbers and spreadsheets for me – I’m all about collaborating to design and build personalised financial plans that give people clarity and confidence with their money.
When I’m not helping clients or working on the business, you’ll probably find me with my wife, Jade, our beautiful daughter, Darcy, and our four-legged friend, Samuel. Weekend dog walks and pub lunches are our go-to!
I’m also a big advocate for the financial planning profession and sit on the expert practitioner panel for the Personal Finance Society. My role is to help shape the profession for the future, improving how people receive advice, and ultimately leaving it in a better place than where I found it.
I’m Rob, a business owner and Chartered Financial Planner.
I’m passionate about helping people take control of their finances with intelligent advice.
My experience comes from working with business owners and individuals who have more complex tax positions and need help making sense of their options.
We offer full lifecycle financial advice. From getting the basics in place to maximising the opportunities along the way, and planning for life’s big changes and what comes after.
I am an advocate for wider family planning and how wealth and education can be passed across generations to encourage great decisions around money. With this combination, we look to build clarity and confidence in the people we work with.
Out of work, you will probably find me outside. I love weekends away Munro bagging in Scotland, travelling the world and scuba diving, or just out in my garden.

Hi there! I’m Mike Kirby. My journey didn’t follow the conventional path of higher education, it led me to discover my passion and expertise in business, sales, and effective communication.
After completing my A Levels at the Friary High School in Lichfield, I initially had aspirations of pursuing a university degree. However, life had other plans for me, and I found myself venturing into the world of sales and motor finance instead. Little did I know that this decision would shape my future profoundly.
My areas of expertise in business lie in the art of salesmanship and effective communication. Understanding people’s needs and finding tailored solutions are what drive me in my professional life. Additionally, my fascination with the engineering and mechanical aspects of vehicles keeps me deeply engaged in my work.
Beyond business, I cherish my time with family and embrace the great outdoors. You’ll often find me engaging in physical activities like kickboxing and Thai boxing, as fitness plays a significant role in maintaining a balanced life for me. Moreover, I am an avid reader and podcast enthusiast, constantly seeking knowledge and inspiration.
In both my personal and professional life, I abide by the philosophy of never ceasing to learn and never giving up. I firmly believe that with the right mindset, dedication, and strategic planning, anything is attainable. No matter the goal, it can be achieved with perseverance and the right steps in place.
I’m excited about the journey ahead and the opportunities to continue learning, growing, and making a positive impact in the business world. If you’re looking for innovative solutions, outstanding service, and unwavering commitment, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s work together to achieve your goals and drive success.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to connecting with you and exploring how we can collaborate to make great things happen.

My philosophy is to save your precious time by sourcing the perfect holiday for you at a perfect price without you completing hours of research and sometimes guesswork to achieve a possibly inferior result.
Having personally experienced working as a ski instructor in the French Alps, trekking the Inca Trail in Peru, partying at the Rio Carnival, wildlife safaris throughout Africa, relaxing on the islands of the Indian Ocean, walking the Great Wall of China, pit lane walks at the Singapore Grand Prix, observing the Orang-utans in Borneo, gorilla trekking in Uganda, sailing through the Whitsunday Islands of Australia and much more, my knowledge is extensive, personal and highly relevant.
Through my contacts worldwide I am able to include fantastic added extras at no extra cost to you. This may include a room upgrade, welcome amenities, a couples spa treatment or a romantic beach dinner to name a few. I am also able to offer exclusive experiences that you simply couldn’t book yourself, making every holiday that ‘holiday of a lifetime’ and adding that special ‘ wow’ factor which will stay in your memory forever. How about riding Harleys with Che Guevara’s son in Cuba or swapping your teenager’s X-Box for creating a wildlife documentary with an award winning filmmaker in Kenya?
I know your time is precious and your holiday plans are of huge importance, so you maximise the experience from the time and budget available. I offer that seamless quality service that others only aspire to and I provide a level of care and attention to detail that is second to none. Depending on your location I can visit you in person – at your home, your office or a mutually convenient location – to discuss your travel plans and ensure you achieve your aspirations.

Nick lives in Kent with his wife and two children. He graduated in 1991 with a BA (Hons) Economics and in 1994, having travelled and worked overseas, joined Kent Police. Initially this was working with informants who provided information about local crime but not long after specialised in serious crime and counter-terrorism policing. This involved working alongside MI5, MI6 as well as the National Crime Agency, managing informants that were pivotal to high-profile operations tackling terrorism, domestic extremism, serious crime and corruption. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2008 and after a brief stint back in uniform spent the rest of his career managing teams involved in all aspects of informant handling. Nick retired from the police in June 2019.
Nick is now the CEO of a specialist speak up business, iTrust Assurance Ltd. They have developed a ground-breaking speak up app which they supply to organisations to allow their staff to report wrongdoing. He is also the co-founder of Worldly Wise.
